3-Year-Old Goes Viral With Self-Written Song, “Dinosaurs in Love”

Dinosaurs eat people with salad and fruit—that's new!

There is something magical and unique about kids of a certain age. Somewhere between the ages of 2-and-a-half and four-years-old, kids have a perfect mixture of innocence, humor, and language and it can come together to create the most magical things. Like this 3-year-old girl who has gone viral for a song she wrote and sang called “Dinosaurs in Love.” It’s the cutest thing I’ve heard all week, and the song is really catchy, too.

Fenn Rosenthal is not even 4 years old yet, but her dad, Tom Rosenthal, recognized her talent in the making and shared a song recording the two of them did together. “Fenn, my nearly 4-year-old daughter, recorded her first-ever solo song today,” he wrote on Twitter, sharing a video with captions while Fenn sings. “She came up with all the words herself and I helped her a little bit with the tune. It’s called ‘Dinosaurs in Love.’”

OK, we all know that kids don’t always make sense. But there is so much gold when we ask kids to tell a story or sing a song and give no direction. What you end up with is fantastic plot-twists like this song that came about organically when Fenn walked into her dad’s home recording studio.

“She’s by the microphone, she’s got the headphones on, she starts singing, and she does as much as she can,” Tom told Buzzfeed News. “And then eventually after she’s done enough little bits of it, it kind of all fits together,” he continued.”Sometimes we have little breaks. … She gets bored; she wanders off; she comes back in.”

The song is adorable and in just a few days since her dad shared it on Twitter, it’s had over 3.6 million listens. I’ve listened to it three times already and it is just the cutest thing – the detailed and devastating lyrics, her accent Even Spotify wants to know when we can expect her album.

Well done, Fenn!
